Review | Something for Sunday (1st Birthday)
Had a long week at the office? Had enough of studying for those dreaded exams? Want to unwind, chill with good company, and have a few drinks while being entertained with amazing talent? Look no further, the best place to end your week is at Something for Sunday (S4S) based at The Light Bar in Shoreditch.
S4S hosted by Reuben Christian is a bi-weekly showcase for UK talent – from live music to comedy, you will leave this place smiling and itching to come to the next show.
It was an extra special day for S4S on 1 April 2012 as it celebrated its first birthday! Its first night at the intimate Light Bar, you know S4S can only get better and bigger and what better way to wish the show Happy Birthday was an amazing line-up.
First act saw our boy Jai Amore do his thing, this guy can hit notes we didn’t think existed. Giovanna Jayne mesmerised us with her rendition of Frank Ocean’s ‘Thinking of You’. Kaleem Taylor who made us weak in the knees with his hypnotising voice while funny man Joel Dommett turned our food babies into six packs from the uncontrollable laughter.
Not forgetting the magical talents of Sian Thomas, Ella Marie, Jacob Banks, Dionne Reid and the one and only Kat (Choice FM).
With a number of crowd interactions such as ‘Guess the Tune?’, S4S is by all means not your typical talent show.
S4S brings to London a fantastic show that helps support the gifted people of our community .
Next show – 15 April 2012 – Come by and say hi!
